Prevailing Church.
Matthew 16: 17-19 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
The revelation of the church has been supernaturally revealed by the Father in heaven. The Ecclesia. We are God’s legislative assembly. Ecclesia is not a religious term but a political and governmental term that is used for a group of people who have been summoned and gathered together to govern the affairs of a city.
Jesus has given us keys and kingdom and authority to forbid and to release. As the ecclesia we are called to legislate the heavens. Whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven. Whatever we loose on earth is loosed in heaven. Whatever we forbid is forbidden. What we says go.
God is causing and calling His church in this season to prevail. To prevail means to prove more powerful than the opposing force. To be victorious. This is the season where the church is going to prove more powerful than the winds of division and confusion that are blowing to separate us. The. Church is going to prove more powerful than man’s government. The Church is going to prove more powerful than the kingdom of darkness.
We prevail because He prevailed.
Hebrews 2:14-15 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
God became man so that He could share in his humanity and by his death He has broken the power of the one who holds the power of death. You don’t have to fear any longer. Slavery and death is no longer your portion. We prevail because He prevailed. He took the L so0 we can have the W!
Jesus prevailed over death!!!
Revelation 1:18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
You will prevail!!
2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and reveals through us the sweet aroma of his knowledge in every place.
You might as well just start giving God praise because, “SOME KINDA WAY,” God is going to lead you in a victory lap around the devil. You will not be put to shame. You will not be defeated. You will prevail. You will prove more powerful than the opposing force of the devil!!
When the Word of God says the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church, God's view is not that the gates of hell are surrounding the Church and the Church is just being bombarded with evil. The Church is not on the defense. That's not the role God sees of His Church. It really should read the gates of hell will not withstand. Period!! Because of where Jesus made this statement He was declaring war!!
God sees the Church as an army that is already free, already delivered. God's army is not stumbling or falling. His army is anointed by the Holy Spirit. That means we are filled with the power of God and the Greater One dwells on the inside of us (1 John 4:4). God sees the gates of hell surrounding those who are not saved that keeps them in the compound of sin. But He sees the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ kicking open those gates and tearing down those walls. He sees the Church snatching away from Satan the sick and the lost and the hurting, then bringing them into the kingdom of God.
Prevail in Praise!
Psalms 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Your Praise is a weapon.
Psalms 149:5-6 His godly lovers’ triumph in the glory of God, and their joyful praises will rise even while others sleep. 6 God’s high and holy praises fill their mouths, for their shouted praises are their weapons of war! 7 These warring weapons will bring vengeance on every opposing force and every resistant power— 8 to bind kings with chains and rulers with iron shackles. 9 Praise-filled warriors will enforce the judgment-doom decreed against their enemies. This is the glorious honor he gives to all his godly lovers. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
Prevail in Prayer.
Acts 12:5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
Where it looked as though Peter was the next to die because of the gospel, The church was prevailing in prayer. This prayer caused the mighty angels of God to be released . Peter was released supernaturally. A prevailing church is a praying church. Don’t stop praying. Your prayers will prove to be more powerful than the devils wiles.
